Molly Murphy is an interdisciplinary cartoonist, animator, and virtual production artist whose work focuses on shifting ecosystems and the absurdity of the human condition. She has made cartoons and illustrations that have been featured in The Atlantic, The New Yorker, and The Rumpus. Her animations have screened at international festivals such as Palm Springs ShortFest, NorthwestFilmFest, La Guarimba, and Calgary Underground Film Fest, and she has received grants from the Sloan Foundation, Breakthrough Sciences Foundation and the MacDowell Fellowship. Her film A Hole is showcased as part of The Museum of the Moving Image’s collection. She has worked as an animator and motion capture performer on Barry Jenkins' Mufasa and animation performance consultant on Boots Riley’s upcoming “I Love Boosters”, and has taught Virtual Production as part of USC’s Expanded Animation program.
